Not to be outdone by Rawkus Records, who hit the high life with their Lyricist Lounge series, 215HipHop.com is throwing down a Producer Parlor of sorts.
Doubling as a celebration of the invaluable contributions made to Philly hip-hop by iconic MC Reef the Lost Cauze, and a coming out party for the official unofficial launch of 215HipHop.com, Beats and Rhymes beckons underground urchins and novices alike.
The evening’s format is simple but inspired, featuring a handful of producers who’ve lent their knob-twiddling and plate-spinning skills to Reef’s prolific output. MC Flipside of the Electric City crew will be in the house, and all the cats involved will take a turn at the tables and boxes as Reef rips through selections from his repertoire.
A true showcase in every sense of the word, this five-hour blowout promises to spotlight all that’s right in the world of Philly hip-hop. (Joshua Valocchi)
