Hot on the heels of last month's I-House screening of Style Wars comes Graffiti ... the Art Form, a series of classes committed to droppin' a little science about the history and style of "writing." While portions of the classes--which will be led by an array of local and regional graf artists--will focus on technique and basic letter-forming styles, most of the sessions will concentrate on the overall tradition of graffiti and the profound impact it has made on the hip-hop landscape.

Don't get played by the seemingly pedagogical approach to the subject matter--there'll be plenty of time for hands-on application, so start toying around with concepts for your personal "tag." (And if someone out there could give SEPTA the courtesy of advance warning, I'm sure it would be appreciated.) (Joshua Valocchi)
