West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival

Fri., June 23-Sun., June 25. Outdoor events will take place on Ogontz Ave. between 71st and 72nd sts., and indoor events at several venues along Ogontz Ave. 215.549.9462. www.westoaklanefestival.com

So when was someone gonna clue the rest of us in on the fact that 72nd and Ogontz is the new Harlem?

Seriously, have you seen the lineup for this weekend's West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival? Roy Ayers brings the Shaft-y funk while Tim Warfield counters with some 'Trane-inspired saxplay. G. Calvin Weston and Dion Paci are slated to blow you away with their aggro jazz, and Joey DeFrancesco is sure to flip some lids with his mastery of the Hammond B-3.

Not quite cool enough for the jazzbos-turned-wannabe-Williamsburgers out there? Bring on some Slo-Mo: Mike Brenner is back and all up in yo' grill with his steel-guitar goodness.

Throw Alô Brasil, Odean Pope and Natural Selection into this mix, and just revel in the Philly jazz stew. Oh—and don't forget about Khan Jamal.

Have you ever been mesmerized by a vibraphone? People, get ready. (Joshua Valocchi)
